The Old Posthouse B&B, Normanby by Spital
Enjoy a welcoming and comfortable place to stay in the Lincolnshire countryside in our family run Bed and Breakfast. We are within easy access of the historic city of Lincoln, Market Rasen Racecourse, the Lincolnshire Wolds and the antiques centres at Hemswell Cliff. (See the Our Location section below for more details or go to the Attractions page)
We have 3 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 6 people in king-size or double beds. We aim to provide a quality “home from home” experience – and we use luxury Hypnos mattresses for a great night’s sleep; and quality local products for our highly rated breakfast options.
We have recently started offering evening meals to guests – Tony loves cooking and has a Cordon Bleu Diploma – so if you want an evening meal look at our menu and give us a call to discuss. Please note that generally we need a bit of notice.
The various rooms available for guests are located in the former village post office (parts of which date back to about 1850), and these have been extensively refurbished since we moved here in 2015. Guests have their own private access to The Old Posthouse and there is ample parking at the side of the house behind gates which we shut and lock at night.
This is possibly one of the best, most welcoming B&B’s I have stayed in. From the moment I booked and received detailed arrival instructions, to the cosy snug for guests use, to the fabulous breakfast with freshly prepared local produce, to the incredibly comfortable bed, and the warm welcome from the hosts, this was a real gem. I’ll be back.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. Rooms were a delight and immaculate. The breakfast was excellent and very plentiful. Must mention the bed which was extremely comfortable. All in all a great stay and hope to return.
Simply perfect – from the welcome to the pristine room, to the tasty breakfast (with a fantastic choice of locally sourced food and drink). A very well thought-out offering. Such warm and friendly owners.
Perfect base for exploring the area. Warm welcome and spotless everywhere. Comfy bed, fab breakfast. Very relaxing break – will definitely recommend to others. Thank you!
Excellent in every way. Enjoyed the full English breakfast. 11/10. Thank you so much.
Can we come and live here? It’s that good. 10/10
This is the third stay here. Its spotlessly clean and I am always made to feel welcome. Perfect for the business traveller.
Absolutely superb. Lovely comfortable room. Amazing breakfast. First class. I will be back. Lovely people.
A wonderful place to stay. Very friendly – nothing too much trouble. Room spotlessly clean. Food excellent. Would strongly recommend.
Fabulous B&B. Warm welcome, lovely hosts, relaxing and enjoyable stay. Will recommend to family and friends.
Absolutely fantastic welcome, super comfortable room that included everything. The most perfect hosts that all in all resulted in an enjoyable stay. Thank you both so much.
This fabulous find is better than some 5 star hotels. Friendly, accommodating hosts. Teas, coffees and amazing breakfast – impressive! Thank you so much.
I knew from the moment we arrived we were going to have a lovely weekend, with the warm friendly welcome we received. You made us feel very comfortable, it was like Home from Home. Room was fantastic “like our hosts”. Thank you so much.
Absolutely 10/10, nothing could be faulted and basically exceeded our expectations in every respect. Great job.
Excellent room, great breakfast. Can’t fault anything at all. Would recommend.
What a wonderful base to spend a weekend enjoying Lincoln. Tony has been the best host we’ve ever had! Well done on creating an absolutely top class BnB experience.
This was our second visit to The Old Posthouse B&B in 2 months. .. what a gem we have found. Apart from really lovely rooms and great facilities the hosts …could not have been more welcoming and helpful on our arrival and through the whole of our time there. They went above and beyond what we could have hoped for. Everything is well organized, friendly and of a high quality, including the food.
Needless to say we shall be back very soon to enjoy one of the best places we have ever stayed. We will not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.
A wonderful find on our cycling tour.
Great overnight stay. Highly recommend. Lovely hosts, comfortable bed and delicious breakfast – all in a lovely village setting.
The best bnb we have ever stayed in…..We would thoroughly recomend this wonderful bnb to anyone.
Absolutely delightful place to stay – hosts … were so welcoming and thoughtful. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely be recommending this place to friends.
Everything perfect. Perfect hosts. Everything lovely and clean. Food was excellent. Would definitely return and recommend.
I only stayed one night. Wish it had been more…… I turned up late and they were most welcoming. Room was amazing. Clean and fresh. Slept really well. Breakfast is super. Home made sausage (yummy). Would come back if I am in the area again.
Fantastic place, lovely warm and friendly people. Rooms brilliant, breakfast brilliant.
One of the best holiday stays we have had in 31 years of holidaying. Lovely welcome, a great room, cosy snug and fabulous evening meals.
Nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was tailored to our individual tastes, room was very clean and decorated to a high standard. Very comfy bed and large en-suite. Couldn’t recommend this venue any more highly.
We genuinely loved our all too short stay at The Old Posthouse. It is honestly the best B&B we’ve stayed in – and we travel the UK and Europe extensively……The entire stay was outstanding in every respect.
